Dear Leaders

Considering that I have been a supporter of the Liberal Party for a long time, and that the only two Iranian-Canadian representatives in the Federal Parliament are from this party, one of whom represents Willowdale, where I live and work, I am writing this open letter to the Canadian Government and politicians.

Eight years ago the Conservative Foreign Minister at the time, John Baird, referred to the Persian Gulf as the Arabian Gulf. Iranian-Canadians raised our voices in a way that such a mistake or intent would not re-occur in Canada. Unfortunately, once again we see that this time the Foreign Department is doing the same under a Liberal Government.

I wished the lack of consideration of the Liberal government remained at this level. Unfortunately, we see that in recent years, no attention has been paid to Iranian immigrants to Canada. Looted capital belonging to the oppressed people of Iran is been redirected to Canada. Canada is becoming a center for money laundering, a haven for the investment of tyrant rulers and embezzlers such as Mahmoud Khavari, Marjan Sheikh al-Islami, and a safe haven for supporters of the Iranian regime and their families.

It gets to the point where a former chief of Tehran's police, Morteza Talaei, a man whose hands are stained with the blood of students and other crimes, works out alongside us in fitness clubs in Ontario.

I am not writing this letter because of my opposition to the Islamic Republic. It is rather the message of many Iranians who have chosen Canada as a place to live because it is a country of law, democracy, freedom and security.

With each passing day, we are realizing that not only our security is endangered here, but that the Islamic Republic, by increasing its presence and influence in Canada, is infecting society as a whole from various political / economic / social and cultural aspects.

I hope that before we, Iranian-Canadians, have to seek the support of a party that cares more about our security or have to resort to the next possible immigration, the Liberal government will pay more attention to our security and demands.

Correcting and properly referring to the Persian Gulf, which is part of our cultural heritage is important to us. Paying special attention to the entry into Canada of current and former Iranian regime leaders, government employees, supporters and their families is vital to the security of Iranian-Canadians.

رهبران عزیز

با در نظر داشتن اینکه برای مدت طولانی از حامیان حزب لیبرال میباشم، که تنها دو نماینده ایرانی-کانادایی در پارلمان فدرال از همان حزب میباشند که یکی از آنها نمایندگی منطقه ای را به عهده دارد که من در آن ساکن و شاغل میباشم، این نامه سرگشاده را برای دولتمردان و سیاستمداران کانادا مینویسم.

هشت سال پیش، در ژانویه ۲۰۱۴، جان برد، وزیر امورخارجه دولت کانسرواتیو، خلیج فارس را خلیج عربی نامید. آنچنان به آن معترض شدیم که دیگر شاهد چنین خطا و غرضی در کانادا نباشیم. متاسفانه یکبار دیگر شاهد هستیم که اینبار وزارت امور خارجه دولت لیبرال همانگونه عمل میکند.

ایکاش بی توجهی دولت لیبرال در همین سطح باقی میماند. متاسفانه شاهد هستیم که در سال های اخیر توجهی به مهاجرین و ایرانیانی که به کانادا مسافرت میکنند، نمیشود. سرمایه های چپاول شده ملت ایران راهی کانادا شده و این کشور به مرکزی برای پولشویی، بهشتی برای سرمایه گزاری دولتمردان و اختلاسگرانی همچون محمود خاوری ها، مرجان شیخ الاسلامی ها، و محل امنی برای حامیان رژیم و خانواده هایشان مبدل میگردد.

کار به جایی میرسد که رئیس پلیس سابق تهران، مرتضی طلایی، فردی که دستانش به خون دانشجویان و ده ها خلافکاری دیگر آلوده میباشد، در کنار ما در باشگاه های ورزش به بدنسازی بپردازد.

این نامه را به خاطر مخالفت با جمهوری اسلامی نمینویسم. بلکه این پیام هزاران ایرانی است که کانادا را به خاطر قانونمندی، دموکراسی، آزادی و امنیتش، کشور خود و محلی برای زندگی خود و خانواده شان انتخاب کرده اند.

هر روز که میگذرد بیشتر در میابیم که نه تنها امنیت ما ایرانیان بیشتر در معرض خطر قرار میگیرد، بلکه جمهوری اسلامی با افزایش حضور و نفوذش در کانادا، کل جامعه را از جنبه های مختلف سیاسی/اقتصادی/اجتماعی و فرهنگی به خود آلوده میسازد.

امیدوارم که قبل از آنکه در پی حمایت از حزبی گردیم که بیشتر به امنیت و خواسته های ما اهمیت میدهد، ویا مجبور به مهاجرت بعدی باشیم، دولت لیبرال در نحوه برخورد با کامیونیتی ما، بیشتر توجه نماید.

رفع خطا و استفاده از واژه صحیح خلیج فارس که بخشی از میراث فرهنگی ما به حساب میاید، و توجه خاص در رابطه با مهاجرت حامیان و دست اندرکاران دولتی فعلی و پیشین و خانواده هایشان به کانادا از خواسته هاییست که برای ما ایرانیان بسیار پر اهمیت میباشند.
