Dear Iranian-Canadians: For the Iranian community in Canada, the time has come to form a powerful organization with a democratic structure to advance our social, economic and political interests, and to promote the greater integration of our community in Canadian life. A group of concerned members of the community have worked together to develop goals, objectives and structure of a non religious, non partisan organization named “Iranian- Canadian Congress, ICC”. On 27 May 2007 the group invited more than 100 active members of the community for a presentation of the idea, organizational structure and the proposed bylaws of the ICC. It was suggested that the suggested bylaws to be reviewed and for this purpose a Reviews Committee was formed with over 14 volunteer members. The Review Committee held public consultation meetings from June 14, 2007 up to august 23, 2007. The review committee has completed its mandate and has received input from the community and has created an updated bylaw which is published and available for your viewing at ICC Congress web site @ http://www.iccongress.ca The main objective of the ICC is “To uphold the interest of Iranian Canadian Community and their well being in social, economic, political and cultural spheres”. Complete objectives of the ICC are attached for your review. As an active member of the community you are cordially invited to attend the public meeting of the ICC. Background, objectives, structure and bylaws of the organization will be presented. Your presence, suggestions and insights are very much appreciated. We feel that the active participation of community members such as you is vital to the formation and success of the ICC and the Iranian-Canadian Congress. The meeting is scheduled for Sunday, 11 November 2007 at 3:00 PM at North York Council Chamber, North York, Ontario. Attached please find the meeting agenda.
